A fantastic peated Irish Single Malt from the good folk at Kilbeggan Distilling Co. Produced at Cooley distillery, this is something of a rarity in the Irish whiskey world, in that it is a peated malt whiskey. Originally a travel retail exclusive, we’ve been lucky enough to get our hands on a few bottles. “Turf Mór” translates as Big Turf, and refers to the Irish term for peat “turf” or “grass”. It certainly has a big flavour too, with a deep, earthy peat complimenting the sweetness of the Irish Single Malt perfectly. Bottled at 46% ABV, the extra proof really allows the smoky warmth of this dram to take hold. A lovely drop, one that fans of Islay whiskies and Irish whiskies will both love!
