A sumptuous bottling from Gordon and MacPhail’s esteemed Connoisseurs Choice range.

This delectable whisky was distilled at Islay’s Caol Ila distillery in 1990, and bottled on the 9th of September 2019, having been aged in a single refill American Hogshead for no less than 29 years. The long aging has producing a dram of outstanding complexity and depth.

The whisky opens with gentle, rolling peat smoke which has been tempered somewhat by the years in the cask. The peat is accompanied by flavours of candied citrus peel, peppery spice, apples, smoked ham, dense old oak, liquorice, chilli spice, espresso and somewhat grassy malt.

Presented at a cask strength of 48.8% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a buttery, luscious whisky.
