A ripping Caol Ila 12 year old from Signatory Vintage’s highly regarded Cask Strength series.
The product of two Hogheads which were both filled on January 25th 2007, the whisky as matured for 12 years, and bottled on December 10th 2019, having been married together.
Caol Ila is known for its grassy, salty peat smoke, and this bottling serves up tonnes of this classic character. Drinkers can expect notes of fresh sliced apples, citrus rind, toasted nuts, vanilla, gentle oak, soft peat smoke, slight oily malt, jammy fruits, some earthy spice and dark chocolate.
Bottled at a cask strength of 55.7% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is an excellent, craft presentation of Caol Ila’s famous spirit.
Just 593 bottles were produced.
