A stunning, well-matured Bunnahabhain bottling.
As if 30 long years of maturation was not enough, this dram has been treated to a finishing period in casks that had previously held rich Sicilian Marsala wine for the final three years of aging.
The result is a dram of staggering richness and complexity. This Bunna opens up with notes of intense, rich dark oak, accompanied by sugared plums, cherries and figs in syrup. These flavours are followed by dark honey, toasted nuts, some light flowers, dark chocolate, vanilla, a little cream, cinnamon and gentle nutmeg.
The bottling is presented at an eminently drinkable cask strength of 47.4% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration.
Only 1,116 bottles, from four Hogsheads, were produced.
