A magnificent Bunnahabhain bottling from Càrn Mòr’s esteemed Celebration of the Cask series.
A peaty dram from the Islay distillery, this 1989 vintage has been aged for just under three decades in a single Hogshead.
The final result is a wonderfully mature, perfectly balanced single malt whisky. This dram serves up notes of smoked malt, soft grassy peat, smoked meats, a little iodine and see spray, toasted nuts, chocolate, white peach, apricot, vanilla, toffee, leather, dusty oak and gentle spice.
The 29 years of maturation have taken the edge of this whisky’s peat, revealing a subtly flavoured and sophisticated dram. This Bunnahabhain is presented at a cask strength of 40% ABV – as low as it can go. Long time whisky fans will know that low ABV cask strength whiskies often have the most remarkable character.
Just 170 bottles were produced.
