Something of a rarity: a peated Speysider from tiny distillery, Benromach!

This dram has been made with malted barley peated to a warming 67ppm. The spirit was matured in first fill Bourbon casks for a delicious, oaky intensity. The whisky was produced in 2007 and bottled in 2016, giving it an age of roughly 9 years.

Peated spirit and cask are in perfect harmony here, with the sweet vanilla and spicy qualities of the Bourbon cask offsetting some of the savoury and citrusy smoke of the peat.

Bottled at 46% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouring, this is a lovely, natural dram.
