A phenomenally well aged single malt whisky from Speyside’s Benromach distillery, the latest edition in their Heritage range.
This spirit was distilled prior to the distillery’s lengthy closure in 1983, and only a few casks from this period remain, making this dram one of the rarest in Benromach’s reserves. The whisky was matured entirely in former sherry casks for 45 years, developing a truly staggering depth of flavour and complexity.
Benromach 45 offers up notes of rich ripe plums, grapes, cherries and raspberries, followed by waves of toasted nuts, citrus rind, brown sugar, chocolate, cooked apples, leather, black liquorice, soft vanilla, rich oak and a gentle, building woodspice flavour.
Bottled at a remarkably low strength of 42.1% ABV, this is a luscious, creamy single malt.
Beautifully presented with a luxurious wooden dark oak box.
