As the name suggests, this is a prestigious Cognac from the Bache Gabrielsen company.
Bache Gabrielsen are a Cognac house that date back to 1905. Their founder, Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen (whose entire name is found on this bottle, although a little mixed up in order) was just 22 when he purchased the E. Dupuy Maison after leaving the army. Thomas was a Norwegian emigrant, and it would please him to learn that today his brand is one of the bestsellers in his home country.
This bottling has been matured in small oak casks for several decades, producing an intensely flavoured and rich final product.
Drinkers can expect rich notes of deep cinnamon, citrus fruit, sweet grapes, leather and toffee, alongside pressed flowers, cigar box, figs, dried apricots, dark oak, nutmeg and vanilla. A long and satisfying finish rounds out this dram nicely.
Beautifully presented in a wire closure bottled.
