The Woodford distillery’s history stretches back all the way to 1780 (!), making it one of the oldest Kentucky distilleries still in operation. After the distillery was purchased and refurbished by the Brown-Forman Corporation in 1993, the Woodford Reserve bourbon was released three years later, in 1996. For 16 years, this bourbon remained the only product on the market from the Woodford distillery, until it was joined by the Double Oaked expression in 2012. To this day, the Woodford Reserve remains one of the best, reasonably priced bourbons on the market.
