Another addition to the burgeoning American craft distillation scene, Widow Jane is produced in Brooklyn, New York City! The spirit is made with pure limestone mineral water from the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, New York.

An urbane spirit, this has been made with a rye mash, before aging in former Bourbon barrels with added staves of new American oak and applewood.

Widow Jane aimed to create a lightly oaked spirit which emphasized the natural flavours of the rye grain. As such, this is a spicy, sweet, grassy and floral dram.

This rye has lots of tropical notes, and a lighter body than most, making it an ideal partner for ice and cocktails.

This spirit benefits from being bottled at 45.5%, giving a little more kick to the flavours. It is also presented without chill filtration (note the barrel char in the bottle) and in small, hand numbered batches.

An intriguing spirit for fans of American whiskey, particularly rye, to try.
