‘Monovitigno’ means “single grape” and refers to the fact that each grappa in this series from Villa de Varda focuses on just one grape variety’s pomace.
This time round the Trentino based distillery have chosen popular white wine grape Chardonnay to create their grappa. The pomace is gathered from local vineyards, and distilled in discontinuous copper stills.
This grappa is unaged, offering a clear and precise flavour of the spirit. The bottling possesses notes of semi-sweet grape juice, lime, bright green wood, herbs, and prickly peppery spice.
A smaller than usual bottling that packs a punch.
