A cracking white Rhum Agricole from Martinique distillery Trois Rivières.
Trois Rivières is so named because the estate is bordered by three rivers: Bois d'Inde, Oman and St. Pierre. The estate was originally founded by King Louis XIV’s Superintendent Nicolas Fouquet in 1660. Trois Rivières is found to Martinique’s south, an area ideal for the cultivation of sugar cane. Here the cane is grown in magnesium and clay rich soil, whilst the roots of the crop sit in sea water, producing a uniquely flavoursome cane, ideal for the production of high quality Rhum Agricole.
The superior terroir of Trois Rivières’ cane is demonstrated by this spirit, a very pure and clean Rhum Agricole, with delightful flavours of lime rind, fresh cane, grassy sweetness, white pepper and slight pineapple.
Bottled at 50% ABV for a slight kick in power and body, this ensures the spirit does not get lost in even the most complex cocktail.
A much quality of white rum than the standard, Trois Rivières Blanc makes a superb Ti’ Punch or Daiquiri.
