A single cask whisky from the Teaninich distillery in the Highland region, bottled by Van Wees’ The Ultimate Whisky Company.
Teaninich is known for being one of very few distilleries not to have a mash tun – instead the distillery uses a hammer miller and mash filtered, which removes the need for a mash tun.
This 2008 whisky was aged in a single Hogshead for 12 Years, allowing it to develop complex flavours of orchard fruits, grapes, some chopped herbs and caraway seeds, fresh grassy malt, shortbread biscuits, pepper and gentle oak.
Non chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV, this is a great example of this overlooked distillery’s spirit.
Just 370 bottles were produced.
