The release of a new batch of Springbank’s 12 Year Old Cask Strength bottling is always a welcome occurrence.

The each edition of this popular bottling from the Campbeltown distillery is highly anticipated, and with good reason. The offering is considered one of the finest examples of the distillery’s unique house style.

This particular expression has been aged in a combination of former Bourbon barrels and ex sherry casks with a 65% to 35% split.

The result is a complex, muscular whisky with a full body. This Springbank 12 offer notes of sandalwood, chocolate malt, chopped herbs, dark chocolate, dates, slight earthy smoke, prunes, sugared nuts, biscuits, citrus peel, dark oak, cinnamon and crushed cardamom pods.

Bottled at a hefty 55.3% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, Springbank 12 Cask Strength is an intense drinking experience.
