Part of the re-launch of Speyside distillery’s range, this whisky is now known as SPEY and has a commendation from none other than Michael Owen! Strangely enough, some argue that Speyside distillery is not officially in the Speyside region’s boundaries. This entry level dram from the distillery has performed particularly well in the Fast East, with its subtle mix of sherry and smoke proving popular around the world. On the nose this is a dram with plenty of fruity aromas, rich in orchard fruits, plums and berries with toffee, caramel and smoke notes emerging. The palate is light and quaffable, with floral flavours, a little earthy malt, biscuits and elegant gentle smoke. The finish is short, with good woodspice and smoke. A cracking dram at a great price point!
