A Venezuelan rum that is very highly regarded in its price range. The Hacienda Santa Teresa, where the distillery is found, was established in 1796, giving this rum a history of over 220 years. The brand Santa Teresa has been on the market since 1909.

As Venezuela only gained its independence in 1811, Santa Teresa actually predates the nation.

Made with Venezuelan molasses, Santa Teresa practices continuous fermentation, and the molasses ferments for between 12 and 16 years. The distillery operates both pot and column distillation. This bottling of Santa Teresa has been aged for between 3 and 9 years in former Bourbon barrels, giving it terrific complexity.

This rum possesses crisp flavours of bitter chocolate, orange zest, banana, coffee, oak, bright sugar cane, lime rind, lemon, caramelized ginger and Bourbon-y wood spice.

A great mixing rum which lends a lot of character to cocktails, this can also be enjoyed neat.
