A lovely sherried Old Pulteney whisky from van Wees’s Ultimate Whisky Co.

This dram was distilled on the 27th of May 2008, and bottled on the 16th of June 2020, having aged for 10 years in a single oak cask, before being finished in a sherry cask for about 2 years.

The result is a whisky that delivers notes of dusty oak, red fruits, raisins, classic maritime Pulteney notes of sea spray and slight iodine, vanilla, toffee, dried prunes, slight coffee, leather, spice, Oak and dark chocolate.

Bottled at a cask strength of 56.6% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a rich, assertive whisky.

Just 691 bottles were drawn from the single cask.
