Ole Smoky have impressed us at Fine Drams for their excellent range of moonshines. Moonshine, or white whiskey, is likely the form that much of America’s early spirits took, being produced illegally by farmers as a means of using surplus crop. This Ole Smoky’s original offering, the flagship bottling of their range. This moonshine has a light and refreshing nose, with a sweet corn zing, a little bite and some sugars. The palate is a bit fiery with peppery spice and more cereal-corn sweetness. The finish is quick, with some creamy corn flavours. A lovely little jar of moonshine that asserts the quality of Ole Smoky. Great from drinking neat or in mixed drinks. This is a 50cl bottle, presented at 50% ABV.
