An exciting expression from Tennessee-based Moonshine company, Ole Smoky.
Ole Smoky Charred is the first barrel-aged product from the brand, who had previously released flavoured and infused “mountain whiskey” varieties.
This spirit is made with local grain, and aged in toasted Bourbon barrels for between three to four months.
The final result is a rich, flavoursome Moonshine that offers up notes of sweet cornbread, vanilla, caramel, charred oak, cereal sweetness, black pepper and some liquorice.
Bottled at 52.5%, this is a surprisingly powerful and complex “spirit whiskey”.
