A superb, old school bottling of Old Pulteney from the veteran indie bottlers, Gordon and MacPhail.
One of the most northerly distilleries on mainland Scotland, Pulteney is known for producing a maritime style spirit with a slight salinity and mineral note.
First distilled in 1982, this whisky was matured in a “remade” refill Hogshead for 32 years, having been bottled in 2014.
A surprisingly fresh and fruity whisky considering its astounding age, this dram serves up notes of apples, melon, lemons, sea salt, honey, grapes, some thyme and rosemary, a touch of mint, old oak, cinnamon and cloves, vanilla and a faint touch of wood smoke.
Bottled at 43% ABV and without colouration, this is a succulent dram.
Warm and balanced, this is another fantastic G&M bottling.
