A charmingly old fashioned bottling from veteran independent bottlers Gordon and MacPhail.

This time round they’ve bottled a dram from Old Pulteney, one of the most northerly distilleries on mainland Scotland.

This whisky has been aged in refill American Oak Hogsheads for 31 years, having been distilled in 1980 and bottled in 2011.

The result is a truly sumptuous dram, built around a core of malty creaminess, with notes of spice, oak, vanilla, honey, leather, slight heather flowers, sea salt, apples, citrus rind, and warm hay.

The dram is bottled at 43% ABV for a touch more warmth.

Another excellent bottling from Gordon and MacPhail, this is a rare find.
