Another excellent Càrn Mòr bottling, forming part of their Celebration of the Cask series.
Mortlach has a reputation for shining in independent bottlings, where the distillery’s weighty, muscular spirit is allowed to fully express itself, free from chill filtration and at higher proofs. This bottling follows that trend.
This 1995 vintage has been aged for 23 years in a single Hogshead cask, developing a delightful complexity of flavour.
The bottling serves up notes of chocolaty malt, leather, oak, dried apricot, peaches, grilled pineapple, ginger, nutmeg, honey, waxy orange peel, green apples and hay.
Fruity and enjoyable, this Speyside malt is bottled at a warming 52.4% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration.
Just 251 bottles were produced.
