Mortlach, the ‘Beast of Dufftown’, is known for shining in independently bottled Sherry casks, and this is a fabulous example.

This 2012 vintage dram has been bottled by Signatory Vintage for their Small Batch Edition series - with this being the first bottling of Mortlach single malt in the range.

This bottling was matured for 11 years in a combination of first fill Oloroso Sherry casks and former Bourbon barrels. The spirit was bottled in 2023.

The end result is a rich, meaty dram with notes of dark chocolate covered dried fruits and nuts, orange rind, caramel, leather, honey, caramelised ginger, sweet plums, cinnamon, tobacco, cloves, red currants, some wet oak, nutmeg and toasted malt.

A powerful and complex whisky, bottled at 48.2% ABV for extra body and depth.
