A flavoursome two-barrel release from independent bottlers Càrn Mòr, who are owned by spirits company Morrison and Mackay.
For this bottling, they have chosen two casks from Miltonduff, a Speyside distillery known for a flowery and bright character, with a lush texture. Spirit from this distillery has historically been a crucial ingredient in the Ballantine’s blends.
This dram has been aged a little longer than other bottlings in the Strictly Limited series, having matured for 9 years in a single former Bourbon barrel. The spirit was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2019.
The final result is a malty and sweet, with notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, toasted nuts, cloves, cinnamon, baked apples, nutmeg, pear, toasted grains, bread and cream.
Bottled at 46% ABV, and presented free from chill filtration or colouration, this is a natural taste of Miltonduff’s flavours.
Just 656 bottles were produced.
