Something of a hidden gem in the whisky world, Speymalt is Gordon and MacPhail’s series of bottlings all from one distillery, perhaps the most prestigious of all, Macallan! This beautiful 18–19 year old was aged in a mixture of first fill and refill sherry casks, giving it a traditional, sherry forward and dried-fruit-rich Macallan character. Gordon and MacPhail perhaps are second only to the distillery itself when it comes to producing top quality Macallan’s, and this is another example, a wonderfully rich and decadent whisky that fans of the Speyside giant will adore! This whisky is bottled at 43% ABV, with that little extra in proof making a huge difference in terms of flavour. The whisky is also non coloured, and presented with a charming (and highly traditional) G & M Box! A classic whisky, from one of Scotland’s most prestigious distilleries and one of Scotland’s most prestigious independent bottlers.
