The 2019 bottling of Lagavulin’s popular PX cask finished Distillers Edition.

Distilled in 2003, this dram maintains the same age as the classic Lagavulin 16 year old. The difference comes with the maturation, with this bottling finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The sherry is known for its sweet, full bodied and fruity profile, which suits the smokiness of Lagavulin perfectly.

This dram serves up notes of rich peatiness, alongside some stewed dried fruits, cinnamon, plums, cloves, leather, woodsmoke, burnt oak, black tea, dark chocolate, cherries and smoked prunes.

Bottled at 43% ABV for a little more body and depth, this is by far the most popular of Diageo’s Distillers Edition series.
