A bottle from one of the most highly respected distilleries, Highland Park, by one of the most highly respected bottlers, Gordon & MacPhail. This bottling forms part of the newly redesigned 2018 outturn of Gordon and MacPhail’s famous Connoisseurs Choice series.
Distilled in 1999 and bottled in February 2018, the whisky aged for 19 years, in a single first-fill Bourbon cask. The result is a wonderfully tropical whisky, with notes of guava, pineapple, mango and overripe banana. Floral notes become apparent after a while, along with touches of bright citrus and cedar.
This dram also possesses typical Highland Park notes of light peat smoke and heather honey.
Bottled at a hefty 55.6% ABV, and without chill filtration or artificial colouration, this a great example of simple, well-thought-out production.
Just 528 bottles were produced.
