The oldest expression yet from Hellyers, a distillery from Down Under.
Indeed, this is one of the oldest Australian whiskies of any description on the market today. The Tasmanian spirit has been aged entirely in American oak casks.
Hellyers 15 delivers notes of shaved oak and saw dust, a little barrel char, passionfruit and mango, some creamy yoghurt-like flavours, grassy malt, chopped herbs, bright cinnamon and chilli heat, raisins and brown toast. Surprisingly vibrant considering the age, but typically oaky, in the Australian style.
This whisky has been bottled at 46.2% ABV and without chill filtration.
An impressively mature whisky.
