A collaboration between the historic Havana Club rum company, and UK Grime legend Skepta.
Havana Club state that: “Skepta drew upon this sense of discovery and community when he visited Cuba in 2019. In Havana, the international grime icon and Nigerian Yoruba chief found deep links between Yoruba culture and Afro-Cuban spirit.”
The result of this collab is a rich, flavoursome rum with beautifully detailed and intricate labelling inspired by Nigerian and Cuban cultural symbols, and by the theme of global togetherness or “community”.
The spirit itself is not bad either! A delicious buttery rum with notes of toffee, creamy coffee, cedarwood, spice, banana, guava, pineapple, tobacco leaf, toasted oak and citrus peel.
Apparently, Skepta was drawn to the Cuban concept of “Aché” – which is a universal sense of creative energy in Cuban culture. This rum will certainly get the Aché energy flowing, whether you’re spitting bars, or just drinking in them.
