Grant's Elementary Copper 29 Year Old
70 cl, 40%

An extremely well-aged blended Scotch whisky from the world famous Grant’s blending house.

This bottling forms part of the Elementary range, which was first launched in 2016. The series pays homage to the different chemical elements used in the whisky-making process, with this bottling celebrating one of the most crucial – copper. Copper is a famously low reactive and heat conducting metal, making it perfect for use in pot stills, condensers and other distilling equipment.

Copper also plays an important role in column stills, which produce the grain whisky used in this bottling. In a column still, sacrificial copper plates are placed into the still, which purify the spirit of its more volatile and sulphuric characteristics.

This blend includes spirit from the Girvan grain distillery, and some malt whiskies from Islay. The spirit itself has been aged for 29 years in a combination of American and European oak casks.

The final result is a delicate, well balanced whisky with a wonderful coppery hue. Elementary Copper offers up flavours of vanilla, sweet grain, honey, dusty oak, grass, crunchy malt, brown sugar, a little fudgy peat smoke, marmalade, spice, mango, pineapple, cinnamon and nutmeg.

A refined and sophisticated blend, the bottling is beautifully presented with the periodic sign for Copper on the label, and a copper-themed presentation box.
