A peated single malt whisky from Belgian whisky brand Gouden Carolus, distilled at the Het Anker brewery.

Blaasveld Broek takes its name from the Blaasveldbroek nature reserve, found close to the distillery’s home, where peat has been extracted and dried for centuries.

Het Anker have used all their brewery know-how to create a specially brewed beer made with peated barley malt peated to 20ppm. This is then distilled to produce the whisky. After distillation, the spirit has been aged in a combination of first-fill Bourbon barrels and Het Anker beer barrel.

Gouden Carolus Blaasveld Broek delivers notes of roasted apples, pears and peaches, coconut flakes, vanilla, peat smoke, rich and sweet malt, wood char, nutmeg, smoky beer, more floral peat, brown sugar, tobacco leaf and toffee.

Bottled at 46% for a little more body and complexity, this is an expertly made single malt whisky.
