It’s not just Edradour that gets to enjoy the old Ibisco Decanter treatment, here a Glenrothes is presented in the same style, having been bottled by Signatory Vintage.
This dram was aged in a single sherry cask for 22 years, having been distilled in 1997, and bottled in 2019. The result is a thick, fruity dram that serves up notes of ginger, allspice, baked apple, sultanas, dried apricot, sherried oak, raspberry jam, dark malt and slight vanilla.
Not quite a sherry bomb, but a rich, enjoyable and complex whisky. This bottling would make a handsome addition to any collection.
