This 12 year old bottling forms another expression in Glenrothes’s Soleo Collection, first launched in 2018.
The Soleo Collection takes its name from the sun-drying process that prepares grapes to be made into sherry. As such, the whiskies in this series are sherry-forward in flavour. For this collection, Glenrothes have dispensed with their usual practice of labelling their whiskies with vintages, in favour of a more traditional age statement.
This dram has been aged for 12 years in sherry seasoned casks, imparting flavours of dried fruits, berries and warming spice to the whisky. In addition to these sherried notes, Glenrothes 12 Year Old serves up notes of melon, lemon cake, pressed flowers, apples and warm malt.
The whisky is natural in colour, matching the vivid design of the packaging.
