Another fantastic Gordon and MacPhail bottling that forms part of their superb Cask Strength series.

This is a 2005 vintage Glenrothes, first distilled on the 14th of April 2005, and bottled on the 9th of May 2017, making it 12 years old. This whisky has been aged in a first fill sherry butt (cask number 4789), creating a distinctive depth of flavour.

Drinkers should expect a juicy, and slightly fragrant whisky with plenty of floral notes and vanilla flavours. The sherry cask maturation ensures this whisky is rich with spicy dried fruit, sweet wine and dark oak notes.

Bottled at hefty cask strength of 58.1% ABV, this whisky is not for the faint of heart. Yet this powerful proof allows the flavours of this dram to fully express themselves. As always with G&M’s Cask Strength series, this whisky is not chill filtered or artificially coloured, allowing the drinker as unadulterated a whisky as possible without drinking straight from the cask itself!
