Another classic bottling of a classic distillery from Gordon & MacPhail’s Distillery Labels series.
This time round it is a beautiful 2002 vintage Glenlivet, bottled in 2017 after about 15 years aging.
Considered by some to be the epitome of the Speyside single malt, Glenlivet was the first distillery to receive a license to distil, in 1824. The Gordon & MacPhail label for this fine old distillery features a bold lion, perhaps reflective of the characterful spirit within the bottle.
This whisky is a wonderful encapsulation of what this distillery is all about, with beautiful notes of fresh, grassy malt, juicy green apple, caramel, honey, pressed flowers, vanilla, peaches, bright oak and hay.
Bottled at 43% ABV for a little extra warmth, the whisky is bottled free from artificial colouring.
A real cracker from G&M, this is one for the Speyside lovers.
