A lovely sherried dram from the Glenglassaugh distillery, forming part of their Rare Cask Release series.
This is a single cask whisky that has been aged for 9 years in a Pedro Ximenez sherry butt. The whisky was initially distilled on the first of July 2010.
The single malt has developed plenty of depth and complexity in that time, serving up notes of bitter cocoa nibs, chocolate orange, toffee, honeyed malt, pineapple, peaches, vanilla, malty wafer biscuits, subtle coffee, sweet nuts, dried fruits and red berries.
A surprisingly tropical PX cask, bottled at 54.4%.
Just 625 bottles were produced.
