The Hielan’ is a relatively young single malt, but don’t let that fool you. From a maturation in both sherry and bourbon casks it has evolved into a complex and lively whisky packing plenty of Glendronach character. It is driven mainly by the sherry casks, but the sweetness and vanilla of the bourbon casks is showing, too. It is bottled with no colouring, and at 46% ABV.
The Hielan’ means Highland in local dialect.
