A superb whisky from this rather underrated Campbeltown distillery, Glen Scotia.
Bottled by Gordon and MacPhail as part of their Connoisseurs Choice range, one of the most beloved in Scotch whisky.
Distilled in the year 2000, this whisky was bottled on the 4th of July 2019 (one for our American drinkers), having been aged in a refill American Hogshead for 19 years.
The result is a crisp, somewhat bready dram, with strong notes of sweet, chewy malt, lemon, slight brine, vanilla, pear, apples, and bright oak.
Bottled at 58.8% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a rich, intense dram.
Just 222 bottles were produced.
