Another interesting release from the youthful Icelandic company, Flóki.

This is an Icelandic single malt made at the Eimverk distillery. The spirit has been matured initially in an American oak barrel, then finished in a cask that previously held beer from a mystery Icelandic craft brewery. This is a single cask bottling.

The result is an fascinating and flavoursome dram, that serves up notes of hops, yeasty pastry, chopped herbs, malt, vanilla, peach, grain sweetness, slight bright oak, a little brown sugar and some honey.

Bottled at 47% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a medium bodied dram with plenty of flavour.
