One of the great Champagne houses, and a Grande Marque, Deutz has been family run since 1838.
This Non Vintage Champagne is made with equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. As with other Deutz wines, this Champagne is produced using Malolatic fermentation, by which the malic acid (naturally tart in flavour) is converted to the more palatable lactic acid. The wine is cellar aged for between 2-3 years, giving this bottling plenty of complexity.
The wine pours a pale straw colour, and possesses a white frothy mousse with good persistency. It has an extremely fine and enduring effervescence.
Deutz Brut serves up flavours of freshly baked brioche, a little red berry, white peach, citrus, honey, nuts, yeast, cream, toast, vanilla and lemon rind. The finish is lingering, crisp and dry.
Drink this now, or keep for a maximum of three years.
