Chateau de Montifaud are one of those rare spirit producers that tick all the right boxes: family owned, historic (founded over 150 years ago) and known for excellent quality. Montifaud have been owned by the Vallet family for 6 generations.

This incredible “Sabina” VSOP illustrates the consistently high quality of Montifaud’s spirit. Montifaud’s Cognac begins with the top-notch grapes grown at their Petite Champagne vineyard. This vineyard is auspiciously placed, with the flat earth receiving plenty of sunlight, whilst the chalky soil provides the perfect amount of acidity for cultivating grapes for Cognac.

This VSOP bottling is legally required to have been matured in French oak casks for a minimum of 4 years. These casks are found in the cool and dry Montifaud cellars, the ideal place for the long maturation of spirit. Montifaud are known for aging their spirit beyond the legal requirement, which is perhaps the case with this bottling.

Drinkers should expect delightful notes of bright fruit, toffee, pressed flowers, coconut, almonds, white grape and peaches. The Cognac displays superb balance between cask and spirit.

The spirit is presented in a classically style of oval-shaped decanter, each bottle of which comes with a charming gift box. A great value for money option for all Cognac lovers, and a bottle which would make the perfect gift.
