A very high quality bottling of Bunnahabhain from Gordon and MacPhail’s historic Connoisseurs Choice range.
Known for making a rare unpeated and rather light style of Islay whisky, Bunnahabhain is one of the island’s great distilleries.
This particular bottling was distilled in 1991, and bottled on the 23rd of January 2020, having been aged in a single refill American oak Hogshead for a whopping 28 years.
The result is an intense, fully flavoured and delicious single malt, which delivers notes of citrus rind, vanilla, peppery spice, green malt, slight salinity, ginger biscuits, some orange juice, creamy oak, chopped herbs, apples and faint earthiness.
Presented at a cask strength of 50.3% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a well balanced and approachable Bunna’ of dignified age.
Only 198 bottles were made.
