Bols Distillery is well known for its liqueurs, and were one of the first to produce a chocolate liqueur in the 1800’s. Made with an infusion of real cacao beans, this liqueur possesses a strong, dark chocolate flavour.
This Crème de Cacao offers up flavours of bittersweet chocolate, slight citrus zest, brown sugar and a faint hint of vanilla.
Dark Crème de Cacao is a crucial ingredient in many classic cocktails, most notably the decadent and dessert like Brandy Alexander. In recent years, the liqueur has had something of a revival with bartenders pairing it with dark spirits such as Bourbon in the Haberdasher cocktail, or Cognac in the Trade Winds cocktail.
