A blended Canadian whisky, produced in Alberta in the country’s east. This whisky’s name and colour scheme is taken from the stone, Onyx. Onyx is widespread in Canada.

Black Velvet is Canada’s second bestselling whisky, and is produced at the distillery that bears the same name (though may be better known to some as Palliser). This is a classic Canadian blend, containing some 12 year old spirit.

This is likely a blend of corn, grain and rye whiskies, which has produced a well-balanced and approachable dram, with some notes of fresh orchard fruit, maple syrup, vanilla, slight oak and buttered cornbread.
