A delicious, spritely independent bottling of Speyside distillery Benriach, from the Perthshire based outfit, Càrn Mòr.
Benriach is known for having a fruity, character with plenty of peachy, apple-like flavours.
This whisky, which is the product of a single Sherry Butt, should show off this profile well, as the oak influence will be somewhat restrained by the short maturation time. The dram is 8 years old, having been distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2019.
This bottling serves up flavours of dried fruits, honey, a touch of botanical sweetness, candied ginger, fruit cake, spice, citrus rind, peaches, apples, brown sugar, vanilla and faint oak.
Bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a satisfying and full bodied whisky.
Just 824 bottles were produced.
