Ben Nevis is indubitably one of those distilleries which is little known in the wider context, but has a legion of adoring fans. And quietly rightly too, this is an old fashioned Highland distillery which produces a thick and flavoursome spirit through trickle distillation.

This particular bottling forms part of Signatory Vintage’s superb Cask Strength range. The whisky was distilled on the 5th of July 1991, and bottled on the 20th of July 2017, having matured for fully 26 years in a Sherry Butt (number 2378). This long maturation in a former Sherry cask has produced a spirit of marvellous flavour, with rich, unctuous fruity flavours of jammy raspberry, toffee, and dense old oak.

This whisky is bottled at a formidable 56.5% ABV, its natural cask strength, with either chill filtration or artificial colouration (as always with Signatory’s Cask Strength range). This craft presentation allows the whisky’s natural qualities to take hold. This is a single cask whisky which produced just 598 bottles, meaning stocks are highly limited!
