A genuine beauty from Ben Nevis and Signatory, joining the inimitable Cask Strength series.
Ben Nevis is a distillery with a strong cult following, which values the distillery’s old fashioned approach (Ben Nevis continues to use wooden washbacks and brewer’s yeast – the last distillery in Scotland to use this strain). The resulting spirit is known for its chewy mouthfeel and richness, ideal for sherry maturation. The distillery is, of course, found at the base of the tallest mountain in the British Isles.
Aged for 26 years in a single sherry butt (cask number 2377), this whisky has been given the time to develop a tremendous maturity and depth of flavour. Serving up notes of dried fruit, deep oak, caramel, berry fruit, oily malt, milk chocolate, white coffee, tobacco smoke, cedar wood, and sherry.
A retro, spicy Highland dram, this whisky is bottled at 57.3% ABV and without chill filtration or artificial colouration. This Signatory Ben Nevis 26 is a full bodied, fully flavoured dram.
Just 599 bottles were produced.
