A terrific, long aged Balblair from Gordon and MacPhail’s esteemed Rare Vintage series.

Distilled in 1979, and bottled in 2010, this whisky has been aged for over 30 years in refill Bourbon barrels.

The result is a delightful complex and opulent whisky, which offers a great iteration of Balblair’s spirit at a high age.

This dram offers flavours of notes of grassy malt, heather, acacia honey, apples, cinnamon, prickling citrus rind, slight oily nuts, chilli powder, dark chocolate, old dusty oak, grilled pineapple, cream, kiwi fruits and slight polished wood.

An incredible whisky, that would make for a perfect post prandial dram.
