A delicious offering from Dewar’s distillery Aultmore! Part of the superb Exceptional Cask Series, this is a double cask release that adds an extra layer of flavour through a finishing period.

Distilled on the 21st of August 2000, and bottled 23rd October 2017. The whisky has been matured for an extra 1 year and 9 months, in addition to the 15 years or so spent in former Bourbon barrels. In total the whisky has been aged for at least 17 years. Aultmore 17 was finished in a single Oloroso cask (number 5015) giving an incredible fruitiness to this dram.

The result is an incredibly flavoursome and deep dram, packed with notes of soft stone fruit, dried fruit, winter spices, chocolate, almond, coffee, subtle flowers, butterscotch, vanilla, heather honey and sherry sweetness.

Bottled at a warming cask strength of 53.7% ABV, without chill filtration or artificial colouration, this is a whisky of relentless class.

Just 570 bottles were produced worldwide.
