A big 1 litre bottling of Ardmore Tradition. This is a classic Ardmore whisky, displaying all the hallmarks of that peaty Highlander (indeed, Ardmore was first founded to supply Teacher’s blend with reliable source of peated malt whisky).
This whisky has been twice aged, first in American oak barrels, and then again in smaller quarter casks. These smaller casks allow for a greater interaction between the oak and the spirit, giving the whisky a richer, more rounded flavour in a shorter space of time.
Drinkers should expect a full, cereal sweetness, accompanied by a robust peat smoke, vanilla, lemon rind and crisp caramel.
This would make an excellent gateway whisky for those just trying out peated spirits, or a slightly less intense daily drinker for the peatheads out there.
